Complementary technologies that pair with the desalination + power system.

Passive Tilt-Adjuster (thermal expansion)

Principle — Uses fluid/thermal expansion to automatically vary panel tilt with ambient temperature, aligning with daily/seasonal solar elevation to increase PV output.

• No external power or motors (passive actuation).

• Simple retrofit to standard module frames.

• Improves yield by keeping incidence angle closer to optimum.

Passive Tracker (thermal & irradiance driven)

Principle — Combines thermal expansion with PV irradiance imbalance (east–west flux difference) to bias the mechanism toward the Sun, achieving single-axis tracking with no external power.

• Fully passive; exploits differential heating or fluid expansion.

• Low weight; suitable for small collectors and lightweight PV structures.

• Minimal O&M compared to motorized trackers.
